Need for Speed Most Wanted is the new release and the nineteenth installment in the long-running Need for Speed series. Developed by EA Black Box and Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts, this videogame has received many positive reviews and won important awards since its release. For instance, it won the Spike Videogame Awards in 2012 for Best Driving Game and was nominated at the BAFTA Awards in 2013 for Best British Game and Best Online Multiplayer.
In this classic racing videogame you will be free to move around the city as you compete against other drivers. Although this title allows you to play by yourself with its single-player mode, you will always have an extra opponent while you drive. The police will try to chase and intercept you at all times, and will add extra adrenaline to the race.
The Graphics and soundtrack will allow you to drive and experience street racing like you are in a real chase
The graphics and soundtrack will allow you to drive and experience street racing like you are in a real chase. You can drive an Aston Martin v12 Vantage, a Porsche 911 Turbo S or a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, among other vehicles, and try to complete every race event in the best possible position. If you finish these events in first or second place, you will be able to unlock performance mods for your vehicles. Just like in any other racing videogame, Need for Speed Most Wanted requires some practice in order to develop driving techniques through two areas in Fairhaven: Downtown and Four Bridges. The controls are intuitive and any player will be able to manage different vehicles after a few minutes. The objective is clear: speed up as fast as you can and take advantage of the open world to find hiding spots and avoid getting caught.
Differences between platforms
After the great success that was Need for Speed Most Wanted for PC and consoles, EA Swiss Sarl decided to launch it for mobile platforms. Developed by Firemonkeys, the mobile version offers a stunning racing experience on your 4 inch screen. This version has very good graphics and, of course, your favorite cars. The Corvette, M3, Mustang or Aventator brands are at your disposal. The gameplay remains the same; you need Speed Points to appear in the Most Wanted List. However, there is a drawback which may disappoint some players. The game is not as open-world as its PC and console versions. It is menu-based, with old-school races and action due to device limitations.
The controls of this version are simple. The acceleration of the cars is automatic, but apart from this, vehicles are quite controllable. To brake you just have to tap and hold the left side of the screen, to powerslide, tap and hold the right side. By swiping, you will be able to activate nitro boosts. The gyroscope in the device is useful, since you can use it to move your car, but a touch wheel is also available.

When playing this game, our main objective in Fairhaven is to reach the highest positions of the Most Wanted. In order to achieve this, you must get as much Speed Points as possible. The SP are the key of this Need for Speed game and we can obtain them in multiple ways. As long as we drive in the city, we will find incredibly stunning cars. Once we get those cars, we must complete their five specific tasks and improve the cars. As you complete the tasks, you will obtain Speed Points. The more Speed Points you have, the higher you will be in the Most Wanted list.
You can also get these points by beating records. For instance, you can beat the speed record in the 66 radars scattered in the city. You can also perform a jump that beats the best distance record. Apart from this, you can discover new safety areas, avoid the police, perform Takedowns to our rivals, etc. There are plenty of ways of being the Most Wanted of Fairhaven. All those tasks are very entertaining, so you will never get bored. Nevertheless, they can be a bit repetitive when you are playing for a long time. When this occurs, you can always rely on the multiplayer option and compete against your friends.
- You can play in your PC, console and mobile phone
- Police add an extra challenge
- Multiple game modes to play
- It is not as good as other NFS titles
Experience Real Street Racing with Hot Fast Cars in Need for Speed

At first glance, I noticed how Need for Speed Most Wanted is considerably a well-developed video game. Just by looking at the graphic details of the game, I immediately find it astonishing. I bet the production value of this video game is worth a lot. Criterion Games and EA Black, the game’s developers, may not have minded the cost because the game has earned many awards since its development nineteen installments ago. Among its numerous awards are Best Driving Game and Best Online Multiplayer Game for the year 2012.
The goal is for a player to be the city's no. 1 street racer. In order for me to be at the top, I have to gather points by winning street races. To win races, I had to evade cops and avoid being caught on camera by speed-sensor cameras. The chaos ensues when all players, who are free to race around the city to compete against other drivers, drive recklessly. Pedestrians always become the casualties in these races.
Nonetheless, Need for Speed offered a convincing open-world driving atmosphere where I cruised every corner of a difficult network of crowded urban streets, narrow mountain roads and high-speed freeways. I had no difficulty unlocking almost every hidden area just like with the past NFS games.
Added to the street racing experience is the game’s music track. Partnered with its cool graphics, I almost felt like I was in a real street race. Everything looked very exciting until the cops arrive to chase around the illegal street racers. Unexpectedly, this pumps up the adrenaline to the race.
- Players race against each other without rules
- Well designed open world environment
- No police chases in multiplayer game
- The game has great visuals
- Lack of race events to play
- It has no story line
- The game has repetitive music track
- No police chases in multiplayer game
One of the best Need for Speed games to play

I especially like this game because apart from having the PC version, I can also play on my mobile. Even when I play on my phone, I can see the details of the cars, and controls are smooth. However, playing on PC is easier since controls are more specific, and you can perform more actions and movements. I prefer accelerate by myself than that the game does it automatically. The game modes are also a great point of the PC version. Thanks to them, I never get bored of playing. Pursuit challenges are incredible since it can unleash your adrenaline and run as fast as possible while running away from police and other players.
Nevertheless, the most outstanding feature is the Multiplayer mode. I can play with my friends in 4 game modes, and the Performance matching is great since I can have a powerful car as my friends have. This way, there is not unfair play since we all have a car with similar features, and no one can be faster or powerful. Everyone has the same possibilities of winning, and all depends on our abilities. Finally, the only thing I must say is that you cannot get bored of playing, even though the game consists on running again and again.
- It has mobile phone version
- Smooth controls when playing on PC
- Lots of game modes to avoid getting bored
- Beautiful cars to be customized
- Mobile version is a bit limited
- Multiplayer mode needs a powerful internet connection
- Graphics could be a bit better
- It is a bit difficult to master
